Chicago-based SingleHop Inc. is the fastest-growing Chicago-area business with three-year sales growth of 7,305 percent, according to Inc. magazine, which ranked the company No. 25 on its 2011 Inc. 500 list of fast-growing firms.

SingleHop, a provider of dedicated servers and web hosting, was the top-ranked web hosting company on the list and the second-fastest growing IT services company. The company, which has annual revenue of about $25 million, said its swift growth has been accompanied by a jump in headcount to 65 this year from 40 in 2010. It has 4,250 customers in more than 110 countries, the company said in a release.

It strives to meet customers’ needs through IT services that allow them to better control their servers, co-founder and  chief marketing officer Dan Ushman said in a release. “That’s our value proposition and it’s resonated strongly with the IT community,” Ushman said.

The company was one of more than 200 Chicago area firms to make the 2011 Inc. 500/5000 list of fastest growing firms. After SingleHop, Braintree was the second-fastest growing Chicago firm, coming in No. 47 on the Inc. 500 list with three-year sales growth of 4,156 percent. Other highly ranked Chicago-area companies include MZi Group (No. 52), Avondale Consulting (No. 95), Signal (No. 108), First Impression Interactive (No. 153), Dental Burs USA (No. 178), Coyote Logistics (No. 221), US Appraisal Group (No. 222), GrubHub.com (No. 246) and WiredTree (No. 254 with three-year sales growth of 1,257 percent).
